Day 7: Drink
My drink today is a fountain Pepsi from Flash Foods. I used to dream about having a Pepsi machine in my house when I grew up. Fountain drinks just taste better.
Day 4: Close Up
This is a close up of my Wall-E lamp
Day 5: Sign
We took a walk to the post office that day. We saw flowers (my 20 month old loves flowers). We almost thought our post office was going to be closed along with other small post offices but thankfully it won’t be.
Day 6: Hat
I actually pulled a photo out of my phone for this one. I feel like a cheater but I did take the picture.
I started a photo challenge. I’m using Instagram to capture the pictures I want for each day. I’m not a professional photographer by no means which makes this challenge so exciting. It makes you look at things in a new way. I think I will continue to blog about the pictures I take throughout the month.
Day 1: Morning
This is the window in my Mom’s house. My Mom means a lot to me.
Day 2: Empty
I wanted to do something different than just an empty cup (no offense to anyone who did a cup).
Day 3: On Your Plate
Supper that night was simple. Lee & Davis little link sausage and macaroni & cheese. I like to dip my sausage in mustard. I hated mustard as a kid but now I love it. Funny how our taste buds change as we age.
I also want to give credit where credit is due. Thank you fat mum slim for this wonderful idea! I’m going to try to share the link to her blog about the challenge…
Fundraisers are an essential tool to parenting. I have learned that they can be quite stressful as well! My daughter’s school is selling Krispy Kreme donuts for the PTA. Now, unlike some fundraiser items, the donuts were a quick sell. I let my daughter, who is 10, personally ask each person if they would like to buy some donuts. She is quite the little salesperson! She signed 31 people up for 35 dozen total donuts (some purchased more than one dozen).
Here’s one of the parts that was stressful: collecting the money for said donuts! I was running around for two days trying to meet up with people to get their money because with me being a single mom, I certainly couldn’t afford to cover the costs if someone didn’t pay. We ended up marking through 3 people on the list because I was never able to run them down. (I chuckle here thinking of me running up behind someone and tackling them to get the money they promised my daughter. Lol!)
The other fun part (I say that in the least sarcastic way I can) is I get to get up super early in the morning (I’m not a morning person by the way) to pick up all 32 dozen donuts in the morning and yet again spend the day tracking these people down to give them their donuts.
But…the pride and accomplishment my daughter felt selling as many donuts as she did makes it all bearable. Ah, the joys of motherhood! 🙂
I have been told that I could talk to a brick wall and never worry if it talked back! LOL! Why not share this gift with the world?!? I haven’t decided exactly what I want my “theme” to be, but I’m a recently single mom that is learning how to be the best me that I can be. I have made mistakes, made awful choices, and had to deal with the unimaginable, but through it all I have become the person I am today. I hope that blogging will help me learn more about myself.
