Yesterday, while I was driving around doing the numerous errands that I had to do, the skies opened up and let water pour down on our little city. Until you have experienced “flash flooding” it is hard to comprehend the vast amount of rain that can come down in a short period of time. There was water covering roads and all you could do was drive through them. After driving through several water puddles that were deep and entirely across the road, I kept hearing a scrubbing noise. I thought it was possibly the brakes because they had gotten wet, but it continued and seemed to get worse. It wasn’t until I had driven around getting weird looks because of the noise coming from under my car, that I decided to get out and actually look under the car. It was not the brakes. The power of the water in those puddles had tore a plastic shroud lose from the bolts under my car and it was scrubbing the ground; hence the scrubbing noise. Amazing! Just glad it wasn’t something more serious.
Well, it’s been awhile since I posted anything. I never did finish the “Photo a Day: June” project. It is just hard to find the time to fit everything into my day. That being said, I decided to add to my list of things to do each day by taking 2 online classes to try to finish up my Associate’s Degree in Accounting. As if I didn’t have enough to do with being a single mom, working part-time, and doing housework, but I have made it work and I am almost finished with this quarter. I’ve decided to only take 1 class next quarter because 2 is just too much for me right now. I’m going to try to be more vigilant about blogging, even if no one is reading it LOL.

Day 11: Door
This is the oven door of my youngest daughter’s Little Tykes kitchen. I love that it’s purple because that’s my favorite color! My daughter, Payton, likes to turn it over and use it as a slide. I don’t know where she came up with this idea but one day she just turned it over and said “Weee!” as she slide down the back of it. 🙂
Day 10: Best Bit Of My Weekend
A picture of a battery? Weird right? But, this really was the best bit of my weekend. Not only was I able to get the battery out all by myself (no small feat I may add) but turns out the battery was defective. Yah! This means I don’t have to spend money I don’t have to fix anything. They replaced my old battery because I purchased it only a few months ago, I popped this one back in, and now my van is running like a champ!
Day 9: My View
This was my view as we were driving home from church today. I took this a day late but it was worth the wait. There was a storm rolling in and I was experimenting with different shots of the sky and I love how this one turned out. Thank you Lord for your many blessings of things so beautiful!
